Eastern Aberdeen Shines at The Big E 2025
There’s something special about walking into the barns at The Big E. The shavings are fresh, the banners are bright, and the hard work of an entire year stands quietly on four solid feet. For our Eastern Aberdeen members, The Big E 2025 was one to remember.
From full-blood champions to percentage standouts, our association was well represented in the ring this year, and our members brought home some well-earned hardware.
Fullblood Highlights
Leading the way in the Fullblood Show was NE Mayhem, named Grand Champion Fullblood American Aberdeen Bull for owners New England Beef, MA, and exhibited by Rob Fanning, KY. A powerful bull with the kind of structure and presence you hope to lead into that ring, NE Mayhem made a statement for our breed.
On the female side, TCS Xena 14H 63L was crowned Supreme Champion Full-blood American Aberdeen and Grand Champion Heifer, shown by Annabelle Anthony, NH. Judge Cody Helms, NE, selected her as the top full-blood female of the show,an achievement that reflects not only strong genetics, but hours of careful preparation.
In the cow-calf division, UF Victorius 25A 41H, owned by Aberdeen Dean, Dean Bros., PA, claimed the title of Champion Full-blood Cow-Calf. There’s something especially meaningful about seeing a productive pair in the ring,it speaks to functionality, longevity, and the kind of cattle that work back home in the pasture.
Percentage Show Standouts
Our Eastern members also made their mark in the American Aberdeen Percentage Show.
ROC Tiger Kong, owned by William Wadsworth, ME, was named Supreme Champion and Grand Champion Bull in the Percentage Show. A bull that caught the judge’s eye and held it, exactly what you want when you step onto the tanbark.
In the percentage cow-calf division, PFF Royal Iris, led out by Lillian Wadsworth, ME, earned Champion American Aberdeen Percentage Cow-Calf honors. Seeing young exhibitors confidently lead quality cattle reminds us that this breed has a strong future.
William Wadsworth and family, ME, added to their success by capturing Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor in the Percentage Show, along with winning Breeder’s Best Four Head. That’s depth. That’s consistency. That’s a program built with intention.
Premier Honors
In the Full-blood Show, Aberdeen Dean, PA was named Premier Exhibitor, while Winston McGregor Anthony, NH earned Premier Breeder honors. Those banners don’t come easy, they represent a full string of cattle performing well across classes.
Recognizing Our Showmen
The future of Eastern Aberdeen is standing tall in the showmanship ring.
Congratulations to:
- Champion Overall Showman – Whitlow Cheney, NY
- Reserve Champion – Delaney Dutton, ME
- Third Overall – Ava Marsh, RI
- Fourth Overall – Isabelle Sarandrea, CT
- Fifth Overall – Lucy-Ellen Lippert, ME
Good showmanship isn’t just about winning a class. It’s about care, respect for the animal, attention to detail, and composure under pressure. We’re proud of every one of these young men and women.
Additionally, the American Aberdeen Junior Get-of-Sire and the Herdsman Showstick Award went to Colley Hill, KY, recognition of both breeding strength and day-to-day stockmanship.
More Than Just Banners
The Big E isn’t just about purple ribbons and champion buckles, though we certainly appreciate those. It’s about fellowship in the barns. It’s about comparing notes on genetics and feed. It’s about kids learning responsibility. It’s about families who have put in the hours, season after season.
For Eastern Aberdeen Association members, The Big E 2025 was a strong showing of quality cattle, dedicated breeders, and the next generation stepping forward with confidence.
To everyone who hauled in, washed, clipped, fit, led, and supported from the sidelines, thank you for representing our association so well.
We’ll see you back in the barns in 2026.
